Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu Full Day by Tourist Train
- Duration: Full day
- Difficulty: Moderate
Places you visit
- Ollantaytambo
- Aguas Calientes
- Machu Picchu
Trip overview
Discover Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World, on a full-day excursion from Cusco. You will travel on the Voyager (Inca Rail) or Expedition (PeruRail) tourist train, depending on availability when your booking is confirmed.
The tour starts with pickup from your hotel in Cusco and tourist transport to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you board the assigned train. Along the way you will enjoy the scenery of the Sacred Valley, the Urubamba River and the Peruvian Andes until arriving in Aguas Calientes.
A professional guide will take you through the citadel of Machu Picchu, following the circuit assigned by the Ministry of Culture on your entrance ticket. Afterwards you will have free time for lunch in Aguas Calientes before returning by train to Ollantaytambo and then by tourist transport to Cusco.
Because train tickets and Machu Picchu entrances sell out quickly — especially between May and October — we recommend booking at least 3 months in advance to secure your train and entry circuit.
